Did you know that the lack of a good pair of shoes can be a reason why some children from disadvantaged communities don’t go to school?
It’s sad to learn that in 2024, there are children who go to school with torn shoes, or even worse, don’t go at all. This is how the Sneaker Bank project started: to provide shoes for at least a few of these children.
We started modestly, with the help of contributions generated by the Open Doors program. In this project, the Exodus Church from Nuremberg, Germany, generously joined us, allowing us to provide shoes for over 150 children from a Rroma community and an orphanage.
An emotional moment was when, during the project, a little boy from a Rroma family knocked on our door to ask for a pair of sneakers, without knowing that we were preparing this project. As you can see from the photos, the joy of the children when they receive a new pair of sneakers is immense!
